Bio/Experience

Colm joins SOR as a commercial law partner, having trained in a top 10 law firm before spending 7 years at a well-known commercial boutique law firm. Colm qualified as a solicitor in 2008 and has a Masters in Business from UCD. Colm works with clients in a variety of different sectors including: aviation, media, retail, food and drink, technology, real estate, construction, energy and leisure.

Colm is a well-respected lawyer who adopts a very commercial approach to advising his clients given his in-depth understanding of their businesses. Colm is viewed by his clients as approachable, reliable and solution focused.

As a commercial law specialist, Colm advises on a broad range of commercial transactions including M&A work, the purchase and sale of businesses and advising on assets in liquidation, examinership and receivership. He also advises on financing transactions, and the legal aspects of trade finance, property finance, asset finance and general corporate borrowings.

Colm has also advised on both sides of venture capital transactions, private equity transactions, restructurings and fundraisings. He also has experience in corporate governance including advising company directors and members on disputes and company secretarial issues.
